My father-in-law forgot my name the other day. He smiled when I asked, "What do you think my name is?" He stalled and replied, "Rose." And there it is—my new name: Rose. Britt Rose.

Russ is 91 years old, has dementia, and is in assisted living. Not everyone is so lucky to have the excellent care that my father and mother-in-law have. They have almost everything they could need except for the creature comforts of their home...soon to be forgotten.

Family dynamics make room and concessions for new ideas—family - supportive or not. Ideas are powerful vehicles to feel alive. I need to feel optimistic and have something to look forward to. I have been bold yet shy about sharing my ideas for some time now. Selectively sharing when and where it seemed appropriate or safe to do so. God forbid the family judge me for sharing ideas that have the potential to make a difference in the lives of billions of people over hundreds of years. That means making a difference for the family, too. Not instead of. Therein lies the hurdle. Share anyways.

In my own words: Worldwide Purpose Structures, Carbon Caps, Plastic Desolving Enzymes, Fiber Purpose. These are all interesting considerations and nothing meant for everyone else to do. All mothers know that it is essential for everyone to do their part in a household. Otherwise, it is on the mother or parents, or it doesn't happen. Same with the planet. All who wish to make a difference must have the proper tools. Plastic isn't going to remove itself; carbon particulates won't take themselves out of the air. What are we waiting for? Solutions at the source of the problem are the best answer. Stop polluting altogether. Bring services and modalities to the source. Create the bridge, close the gap. We are now more intelligent than we were. Know more than we did then. It is time to take action—each of us who cares to do so. We can make the change!
